Synopsis
Adapted from a traditional Japanese folktale, The Boy and the Tengu tells the story of a poor Japanese farmer who is informed that he has received an inheritance, but must go to the village to claim it that day. When he leaves without his provisions, his wife takes a short cut through the forest to catch up with him, leaving their boy in their small hut unattended. The boy's mother doesn't return. Instead the boy is visited by a tengu, a traditional Japanese monster, who plans to eat the boy on his return visit. Can the boy outsmart the tengu?
